to the Christmas grotto. I was disappointed. The whole thing struck me as lacklustre. Maybe miss Bartley has other things on her mind atm. or maybe she put all her effort into the windows. The windows were beautiful, though. They had a very fantastic Mr. fox feel and a very British vibe, with 70s kitch and TVs showing the Queen’s speech. A particular favorite was the window with the giant tinsel robin.

The inside of Liberty's isn't all disappointing; the entrance on Oxford Street is filled with tinsel. And make sure you look up in the handbag department the ceiling is covered in present bows. Last year my favourite department store christmas windows were at Selfridges. They had a Santa theme.
This year the theme was a panto/fairytale theme. I think Selfridges might have been my favourite shop windows again this Christmas. They had a very panto dame feel.

This wicked witch is amazing in her McQueen dress. And here's Peter Pan.
Last year, Harrods's Christmas were incredibly disappointing. They had a Quantum of Solace/James Bond theme. I felt they were a major sell-out and lazily shoved together. (Speaking of which, I understand that Boris needs to save money and Christmas lights are probably non-essential and letting Disney pay for them to promo their movie is a good idea but I just wish they didn't look so cheap) So I was quite worried when I heard they were doing the 40th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz.
I was pleasantly surprised and especially impressed by the giant ruby slippers. The windows themselves were not the best I have seen this year, but were by no means bad.
