Short but sweet. The Bora Aksu show seemed to flash by. It was full of interesting, very textural dresses in soft colours of pale pink, salmon and duck-egg blue. Although very feminine, they had been teamed with gothic black leggings which gave the outfits a more edgy look. I thought these leggings looked great and really complimented the dresses, much more exciting than the conventional plain black ones we're sick of seeing.
Many of the dresses had knitted web-like structures attached on top of light, delicate fabrics. Really emphasizing different weights of fabric. Skirts were short but full of volume and tulip shaped. There was also an injection of metallic fabrics and a pair of lovely metallic trousers.
I have also just read that Aksu has used the unusual material of Brazilian fish skin in some of his his pieces. This is definitely something I would like to see up close as I didn't notice this on the catwalk. Overall, a number of very interesting yet wearable pieces.
Oh and minor celeb spotting...Jodie Harsh on the front row.
