LFW Day 1: Caroline Charles

My fashion week started with the Caroline Charles show, which (to me at least) was the story of a journey. The show started with lots of lovely woolen checked jackets and dresses, clearly starting here in England. Ear muffs aplenty too.

Then I felt that we’d gotten on a plane with these aviator-esque hats.

And flown to somewhere east maybe (I looked it up later, Caroline Charles says a trip to Istanbul is what inspired part of the collection)

And then on to a party in Paris.

Overall there were lots of lady-like touches such as this green belt and gloves combo. Hannah commented it was all very Audrey Hepburn who Caroline Charles has said is her muse.

And the show finished with a lovely bride in black (who dropped her veil….) and to sparkly bridesmaids.

My only complaint? Why were there so many children in the front row? I could understand one or two with their parents (it is half-term after all) but there must have been about 20 of them sat in groups of 5 or 6. Surely children don’t enjoy fashion shows? Couldn’t they have sat cross-legged on the floor like I did when I was little?

I wasn't sat near enough the front to get many good pictures.
But I did get this video.
